Check a record
What the service checks
Verification concerns an issued record held within the stated service. It identifies the recorded issue and current status within its scope. It is not a search of all certificates, organisations or products worldwide.
Record type
Identify whether the document concerns an assessment result, learning activity or another record type. The type determines its meaning. A membership entry and a learning record are not product certification.
Enter the identifier
Enter the identifier as it appears on the document. Check letters, numbers and separators. If the issuing body is different, use that body's own verification route rather than assuming that an IESQ search covers its records.
Read the result
Compare the record with the document and intended claim. Check the holder or object, issuing body, criteria, scope, dates and status. Any qualification or effective scope change is part of the result, not a secondary note.
Scope and issuer
A record applies only to the object and scope shown. The issue of a document does not establish statutory authority, accreditation or acceptance for every use. Any such claim requires its own specific basis.
No match or unavailable service
A no-match response is not, by itself, a finding that a document is false. Recheck the identifier and issuer, then raise a concern if needed. A service error is distinct from a completed search with no matching record.
Questions and suspected misuse
For a correction or concern, give the record identifier and explain the inconsistency. Include where the document or claim was found, but avoid sending unnecessary personal or confidential information.
